Driving your new Volvo for the first time is a special moment. Are you buying a new Volvo V60, V90, XC60* or XC90 that is to be registered in Germany? Then why not consider to make this occasion more memorable by picking up your new car at the Factory Delivery Center in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Factory Delivery Center will make you feel at home. Every year more than 1000 people come to Gothenburg to pick up their car. While here, we can help to arrange a number of activities that will help you to get a better feel for the Volvo Cars brand.
Your journey to Gothenburg
From the German airports of Frankfurt, Hamburg, Dresden, Berlin-Tegel and Munich, you fly to Gothenburg. Your private Volvo shuttle picks you up at the airport and takes you to the Clarion Hotel Post in the centre of Gothenburg. Your itinerary includes a three-course dinner in the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant Norda Grill and breakfast the next morning.
Your day at the Factory Delivery Center
We will collect you from your hotel and drive you to the Volvo Factory Delivery Centre in Torslanda, just outside the city. Your vehicle is delivered in an exclusive setting in the English language. We will give a run-through of your new car and take care of any documentation. You will have the opportunity to fully familiarize yourself with your new Volvo before driving. We will treat you with a traditional Swedish lunch. After lunch, it’s time to climb aboard the “Blue Train” and take a guided tour around the Volvo Cars factory. The tour takes approximately one hour and gives you the chance to see exactly how your new Volvo car was built. Please note: If the tour is unavailable, you will visit the Brand Experience Center instead. The sequence of agenda items may vary.

Before you leave, take the opportunity to see more of Volvo’s home town Gothenburg (Swedish: Göteborg), located on the west coast of Sweden. The city has got plenty to offer – with
lots of great shopping, a flourishing restaurant scene and the stunning archipelago just around the corner. We recommend to take some time to explore the country that inspired your new Volvo. Whether you take an overnight ferry back to Germany**** or make a journey through Sweden*** after taking over your new Volvo is up to you and your imagination. Whatever you choose to do, you will start driving your Volvo with a full tank of fuel.

**) Please note that we can currently offer this service only to customers who can register their car on permanent license plates (e.g. regular civilian registration in Germany) prior to taking delivery.
***) During the period from 1st December to 31st March winter tires are mandatory to drive in Sweden if road conditions require it. This requirement applies to both vehicles registered in Sweden and abroad. Winter tires are produced specifically for winter driving and are labelled M+S (M.S, M-S, M&S or Mud and Snow). To pick up your vehicle in Sweden during winter time you need add winter tires to your Volvo order. You can pick up the summer tyres that initially came with your new Volvo at one of our locations once you are back from Sweden.
