Volvo Cars launched one of the most ambitious plans in the automotive industry, aiming to reduce its lifecycle carbon footprint per car by 40 per cent between 2018 and 2025. This is the first, tangible step towards Volvo Cars’ ambition of becoming a climate neutral company by 2040.
The plan represents concrete actions in line with the global Paris climate agreement of 2015, which seeks to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Read more
Volvo expands its product range with two more electrified model versions: After launching several diesel engines with a mild hybrid system earlier this year, the first petrol engines are now also being converted to the 48 V vehicle electrical system with mild hybrid technology. This means that the entire Volvo XC90 series is now electrified. At the same time, we are happy to announce that the long-awaited Volvo XC40 T5 Twin Engine (plug-in hybrid) is now ready to be ordered and the fully electric XC40 SUV, Volvo’s first electric car, will be introduced later this month.
